Stylistics Hair Design offers a professional range of services and products to suit every body’s needs. With over 40 combined years experience in hairdressing, we are continually updating our skills by attending refresher courses and training in all the new up and coming services to ensure we give the best and most relaxing experience.

The salon is also used to help update and train others, with the opening of SHD Academy, a VTCT approved training academy. The Academy provides training for anyone who would like to complete an NVQ in hairdressing or a short course to update skills, or build their confidence.

Gill was trained at the L’Oreal School of hairdressing and offers 30 years hairdressing experience. Constantly updating her skills Gill has in the last 10 years obtained her NVQ level 3, Training and Development 7308 and A1 Unit, thus giving her the ability to give training and assess learners wishing to learn on a range of hairdressing subjects. More recently Gill has extended her knowledge by gaining the Hair Extension Qualification, as well as La Braziliana training and was the Thurrock and Basildon College student of the year. She excels in her subject and her passion of hair.

Fay has been in the hairdressing industry for 12 years. For the past 5 years she has worked as a tutor at Thurrock and Basildon College teaching areas ranging from basic hairdressing to fantasy hair. She has also worked as a stylist for 10 years. Among her many talents Fay specialises in dressing long hair.

Fay has completed an apprenticeship and Level 3. She has furthered her education by completing a 7308 training and development. In addition to her hairdressing ability Fay is also entitled to assess in the hairdressing industry (A1 Unit). She has also completed a diploma in teaching in the life long learning sector to a degree level. This enables us as a salon to teach all our apprentices to a higher standard.

In the near future Fay is planning to complete a QTLS. This will enable her to enhance her teaching skills which will be essential for the development of the Academy at the salon.

John Kirczey
John started in the hairdressing industry at a very early age attaining a City and Guilds basic and advanced certificate in hairdressing by the age of 18.Working in a salon as an under manager and moving on to own and run his own business for some 12 years before having an interest in teaching.

John taught at what is now South Essex College of further and higher education at woodview and Grays for some 23 years. He decided to return to his roots and work and teach the necessary skills to further prospective hairdressers at the salon.

A wealth of experience and dedication that he hopes to continue in to the future.
Qualifications include:
On the job practical experience at a prestigious salon in the city of Cardiff.
Management and salon ownership. Skills Assessor and verification qualifications.
Teaching qualifications up to certificate in education and continuing professional development while teaching full time whilst teaching at the above mentioned college.

Cherie
Cherie is a valued member of staff at the salon. Her approach to clients and on the job are to be commended. Skills are being practiced and mastered by this motivated young hairdresser. She has completed VTCT Level
2 and is now studying for level 3 with us.
